This blog has been established by the Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library in the Town of Burrillville, Rhode Island. It's purpose is to share and gather memories about local history and events from our local citizens; and then to include these memories as documents in the library's Local History Collection. |
Memories wanted...
Construction of our new Jesse M. Smith Memorial Library has turned most of the old Stillwater Worsted Mills in Harrisville into a memory. But, before everyone forgets, we want to make your memories part of our Local History Collection.
Please share your memories of the mills with us. And feel free to add comments— or pictures, if you have them!— to whatever you find posted here; they will add to the richness of the memories.
If you are hesitant to post your memories or pictures, please let us know. If the problem is that you are uncomfortable with blogging, why not write your memories down? Or record them? The library can transcribe your memories and post them for you— anonymously, if you like. And if you need to have your pictures scanned, we can help with that, too.
